![]() Riot is still very optimistic of releasing the global version of Valorant during the summer of 2020 but it seems like we can maybe see the map Ascent added to the game in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, Split has been rotated out of the map pool, leaving players with only six maps. The map will also join the competitive map pool later on July 12. Riot Games has announced the new map will release on June 22 alongside Episode 5: Dimension. The map will be based on an Italian theme and set in the city of Venice, like Overwatch’s Rialto map. Valorant fans only have the trailer to try to gain any information about the new map. Episode Eight and Patch 8.0 officially kick off 2024 for Riot’s tactical multiplayer shooter, which will mark the game’s fourth official full year. ![]() The map is only shown for a very few seconds however, on the right side of the clip you can see some construction scaffolding. A new VALORANT episode means a new patch. Split will go away for a time but will return at some point in. There has to be some kind of feature that sets Ascent apart from the other three maps but it’s really hard to tell as of now from these short clips being shown in the developer video. With the new map releasing next week, VALORANT will also take the step of removing a map from the competitive and unranked rotation. We are so sure that it is the backside of the defender’s spawn as the spawn rooms are always closer to these points to facilitate easy set up of the defenses during the buying phase.Īscent seems to be like Split and Bind at the very first glance as it has only two points of attack unlike Haven which has three points of attack. ![]() The mini-map on the top left of the dev’s video makes it pretty clear that the location of the map being shown is the back side of the defender’s spawn on Ascent map. Only a few shots of the new map are visible in the video. Riot typically rotates maps to keep the Valorant competitive system fresh and prevent players or viewers from getting bored with the same maps. With the last map rotation being in September 2023, the devs have confirmed that Episode 8 will have a new set of active maps, including Icebox. You can go the timestamp 2:45 precisely to see the new map straight away. ![]()
